'Sense of Direction'

'Sense of Direction' is a project designed by me with aims that centre around creative activities for people who find themselves disadvantaged due to a number of causes. Poverty, drugs including alcohol, depression, intellectual/psychological disorders, trauma or anything else that makes them feel 'left out' or detached from societies norms.

Things covered in the project are music, painting, media, computers, computer maintenance, internet skills, research skills, group discussions, 1 to 1 counseling and basically an open-door policy of empathy and respect where people can learn how to feel valued, encouraged, skilled and build confidence self respect in a safe environment.

So presently I am appealing to all from the Arklow area to donate any old PC 's or PC parts... monitors, accessories, hard drives that they honestly dont want. If you bring it to the recycling centre... we cant use them. we have been told we cant take any pc's from there as a company has the contract... as far as I know this company basically smashes them and then gets any main pieces and exports them to Asia... How green is that? so if you are thinking about leaving hardware into the recycling centre... leave it in to my house instead... Please.

I dont expect to be over run with PC's but hopefully we will get enough pieces to make a couple of basic stations for people to use...
